## Synopsis

NOS4A2 (2019-2020) is an American supernatural horror series created by Joe Hill and Jami O'Brien for AMC and BBC America, adapted from Joe Hill's novel. Ashleigh Cummings plays Vic McQueen, a young woman who discovers she can unlock portals that lead her to lost objects, and who soon finds herself drawn into a hidden universe of inscape travelers, some benevolent and some corrupted by their power. Zachary Quinto plays Charlie Manx, an immortal who preys on children's souls to stay alive, and he becomes Vic's sworn enemy. Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Jahkara Smith and Ebon Moss-Bachrach round out the principal cast as the people pulled into Vic's struggle. The engine of the show is a cat-and-mouse hunt, with Vic's gift pitted against a predator who hides in plain sight across ordinary American towns and roads. Across two ten-episode seasons, the story unfolds as one continuing arc rather than a case of the week. The tone is eerie and unsettling, with a gothic horror atmosphere, sinister dread and moments of genuine supernatural spectacle. Fans of Stranger Things, Locke & Key and The Haunting of Hill House will find resonance in its blend of supernatural menace and haunted American Gothic. The series ended on a cancellation before its story was fully told.
