## Synopsis

The Pier (2019-2020) is a Spanish drama mystery series created by Esther Martínez Lobato and Álex Pina for Movistar Plus. Across two seasons and sixteen fifty-minute episodes, it follows high-profile architect Alexandra (Verónica Sánchez), who is called to identify the body of her husband Oscar (Álvaro Morte), found on a pier in the wetlands of the Albufera outside Valencia. Local police officer Conrado (Roberto Enríquez) presses her with questions, and the apparent suicide quickly stops making sense. Alexandra's engine is a need to know who the man she loved for fifteen years really was and what happened that night, and each episode peels back another layer of his hidden life with a woman named Verónica (Irene Arcos). The mood is melancholic and tense, with a steady drip of revelations and suspicion among the people around them. Fans of The Night Manager, Money Heist and Big Little Lies will find resonance in its polished, secret-laden domestic thriller style, set against the atmospheric beauty of the Valencian coast.
