## Synopsis

Mr. Hiiragi's Homeroom (2019) is a Japanese psychological thriller series created for Nippon Television Network. Homeroom teacher Ibuki Hiiragi (Masaki Suda) gathers the 29 students of class 3-A, including Sakura Kayano (Mei Nagano) and Reina Kageyama (Moka Kamishiraishi), and declares them hostages just ten days before graduation. His last lesson concerns the death of a classmate months earlier, and no one may graduate until the truth comes out. The engine of the series is a slow unraveling of secrets, with each lesson pressing the students to confront their own silence, cruelty, and the messages and rumors that shaped a life. Set in a present-day Japanese high school, it unfolds across a single ten-episode season of roughly forty-five minutes each, a tightly contained serialized mystery. Its tone is tense, claustrophobic and morally unsettling, with a melancholic undercurrent. Fans of Confessions and Battle Royale will find resonance in its classroom dread and its study of youth cruelty, and viewers of 13 Reasons Why will recognize its focus on schoolmates and digital harm.
