## Synopsis

Success (2019) is a Croatian crime drama miniseries created by Danis Tanović for HBO Europe. Across six episodes of roughly fifty minutes each, it follows four strangers whose lives are bound together by a single violent event. Uliks Fehmiu plays Haris, while Iva Mihalić plays Vinka and Marija Škaričić plays Inspector Kalić, a police investigator working to make sense of the wreckage. Their paths interlock through the intersecting storylines of Blanka, played by Tara Thaller, and Sven, played by Filip Mayer, as each character's private desperation pulls them deeper into the same tangle. The engine of the show is the slow accumulation of hidden motives, compromised loyalties and small betrayals that surface as the threads converge. Each episode peels back another perspective, so the drama rewards close attention and patience. Set in a present-day Balkan city shaped by the pressures of a post-transition society, the series carries a tense, melancholic and morally weary register, with a grounded visual sensibility and a focus on how ordinary people are pushed toward desperate choices. Viewers who enjoy the braided structure of Fargo, the social web of Crash and the moral grit of The Night Of will find much to admire here.
