## Synopsis

Magnus (2019) is a Norwegian comedy crime series created by Vidar Magnussen for NRK1. Vidar Magnussen stars as Magnus, perhaps the police's worst investigator, who is assigned a murder case that reaches far beyond ordinary Norwegian jurisdiction, into a completely different world. Supporting players Pål Rønning as Dan, Ola G. Furuseth as Arthur, and Anette Amelia Larsen as Charlotte surround him as his colleagues, and their bickering and fumbling form much of the comic texture. Each of the six thirty-minute episodes is built around an investigation that keeps spiraling into stranger territory, so the show plays as a compact self-contained run rather than a sprawling saga. The tone is deadpan and irreverent, with awkward silences, earnest incompetence, and a low-budget charm that treats cosmic weirdness as just another case file. Its strongest pull is the mismatch between a detective who barely knows what he is doing and a mystery that demands far more than he can offer. Fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Psych, and Twin Peaks will find resonance in its offbeat blend of police procedure, absurd humor, and genre strangeness.
