## Synopsis

El Chavo: The Animated Series (2006-2014) is a Mexican animated comedy series created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños and produced by Ánima Estudios and Televisa, broadcast on Canal 5. Based on the long-running live-action sitcom, it follows Chavo, a poor orphan boy who lives in a cramped vecindad courtyard and spends his days dodging trouble with his neighbors. Quico (Sebastián Llapur) is the rival playmate who constantly teases him, while Señor Barriga (Víctor Delgado) is the landlord chasing overdue rent and Doña Florinda (Erica Edwards) polices her son's manners with fierce pride. Don Ramón (Mario Castañeda) and Profesor Jirafales (Juan Carlos Tinoco) round out the cast of neighbors and schoolteachers. The engine of each episode is a simple misunderstanding or schemed plan that spirals into physical slapstick, running gags and sharp verbal back-and-forth. Across seven seasons and 135 episodes of roughly twenty-three minutes each, the show stays a light, comforting, family-friendly ensemble. Its warm, playful tone and repeated comic set-pieces make it a natural pick for fans of The Simpsons and Hey Arnold!, and it suits anyone seeking a gentle children's sitcom with a Latin American flavor.
