## Synopsis

The Tom and Jerry Show (1975) is an American animated comedy series created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for ABC, produced by Hanna-Barbera in association with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Television. Built from the theatrical shorts and characters, it follows Tom, a scheming house cat voiced by John Stephenson, as he chases Jerry, a quick and resourceful mouse, through a household of slapstick mishaps. Voice work from Don Messick and Joe E. Ross fills out the supporting cast. Across a single season of 48 episodes, each roughly seven minutes long, the engine is simple: Tom plots, Jerry outwits him, and the pursuit escalates through pratfalls, collisions and well-timed gags. There is no continuing plot, so each short stands alone and can be enjoyed in any order. The tone is light, breezy and cheerfully chaotic, with a warm nostalgic glow for viewers who grew up on Saturday morning television. Fans of Looney Tunes, The Flintstones and the original Tom and Jerry shorts will find familiar comic rhythms and the same delight in cartoon mayhem, making this an easy, gentle watch for families and young children.
