## Synopsis

7SEEDS (2019-2020) is a Japanese animated science fiction series produced for Netflix and adapted from a manga. Shy Natsu Iwashimizu (voice by Nao Toyama) awakens as part of a chosen group whose purpose is to ensure humanity survives, and the group must make its way across a transformed Earth. Alongside Natsu, the principal cast includes Arashi Aota (voiced by Jun Fukuyama), Semimaru Asai (voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi) and Matsuri Tendou (voiced by Kana Asumi). The engine of the series is survival itself: each episode pushes the group into hostile terrain, shifting alliances and the strain of living under a fragile mission. The single season of twenty-four episodes is one continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format, and its mature register draws on psychological pressure and violence. The atmosphere is bleak, tense and contemplative, with a melancholy sense of loss underlying the adventure. Fans of Snowpiercer, Attack on Titan and other mature survival anime will find resonance in its post-catastrophe world and its questions about who deserves to live.
