## Synopsis

Star Trek: Picard (2020-2023) is an American science fiction drama series created by Alex Kurtzman, Kirsten Beyer, Akiva Goldsman and Michael Chabon for CBS All Access and Paramount+. Patrick Stewart returns as Jean-Luc Picard, now a retired admiral living in quiet semi-seclusion twenty years after the events of Star Trek Nemesis. Pulled back into danger, he assembles a small crew that includes Michelle Hurd as Raffi Musiker, Alison Pill as Dr. Agnes Jurati, Santiago Cabrera as Cristobal Rios and Evan Evagora as Elnor. Across three serialized seasons the story builds around a galaxy-spanning conspiracy, shadowy powers and a dystopian undercurrent that tests the optimistic Federation ideals of the franchise. Each season is made of a continuing mission with sustained tension, action set pieces and emotional reckonings with the past. The tone is darker and more melancholic than earlier Star Trek series, yet it keeps a hopeful, reflective heart. Fans of Battlestar Galactica, The Expanse and Star Trek: The Next Generation will find familiar resonance in its mix of space adventure, legacy character drama and serialized political intrigue.
