## Synopsis

Vota Juan (2019-2022) is a Spanish political comedy series created by Juan Cavestany and Diego San José and broadcast on TNT España and HBO Max. Javier Cámara plays Juan Carrasco, a forgettable Minister of Agriculture whose ambitions unexpectedly swell after a string of fortunate political events. Pushed toward a primary contest within his party, he sees a path to the disputed prime ministership of the Spanish government, and the series follows his scramble to turn that accident into a campaign. Around him, María Pujalte as Macarena Lombardo and Adam Jezierski as Víctor Sanz orbit the party machinery, while Esty Quesada plays Eva Carrasco. The three seasons, about twenty-three half-hour episodes in total, are built from office maneuvering, staged appearances, and the petty compromises of party life. The tone is dry, deflating and sharply observational, mocking vanity and hollow ambition without cruelty. Fans of The Thick of It and Veep will find resonance in its satire of ambitious officials who mistake luck for talent.
