## Synopsis

gen:LOCK (2019-2021) is an American animated science fiction series created by Gray Haddock for Rooster Teeth and HBO Max. Set fifty years in the future, it follows a daring team recruited to pilot a new form of weaponized neuroscience that powers devastating mecha against an oppressive authoritarian force threatening to conquer the world. Voice cast includes Michael B. Jordan as Julian Chase, Dakota Fanning as Miranda Worth, Maisie Williams as Cammie MacCloud, and David Tennant as Dr. Weller, with Haddock also voicing Leon. The engine of the story is a team pressed to accept sacrifices they may not survive, with each episode building momentum toward a larger battle. Told across two seasons of short, roughly half-hour episodes, it is a serialized, 3D-animated action saga with an anime inspired look. The tone is intense and earnest, carried by themes of sacrifice, loyalty, and the cost of resistance. Fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion, Knights of Sidonia, and Pacific Rim will find resonance in its mecha spectacle and its grim, high-stakes future.
