## Synopsis

The Legends (2019) is a Chinese xianxia fantasy romance series broadcast on Hunan Television, a single-season run of 56 forty-five-minute episodes. Bai Lu plays Lu Zhaoyao, a woman who, after being ambushed while trying to take her predecessor's Wanjun Sword, becomes convinced that the cult leader's son is tied to the attack. Five years later, Xu Kai plays the man in question, now leading the cult as Li Chenlan, and Lu Zhaoyao seeks revenge with the help of cultivator Qin Zhiyan, played by Xiao Yan. The engine of the story is a long game of deception, where a plan built on hatred gradually gives way to tenderness. Episodes unfold through sect politics, sword duels, and shifting alliances in a world of immortal cultivation. The tone mixes wistful longing, romantic tension, and aching devotion, with a steady current of reincarnation and loss. Fans of Eternal Love, The Untamed and Ashes of Love will find resonance in its blend of cultivation spectacle and slow-burning romance.
