## Synopsis

Hightown (2020-2024) is an American crime drama series created by Rebecca Perry Cutter for STARZ. Monica Raymund plays Jackie Quiñones, an irreverent National Marine Fisheries Service officer who is determined to help solve a murder after a body washes ashore on Cape Cod, even though the state police want her nowhere near the case. Riley Voelkel co-stars as Renee Shaw, with Shane Harper as Junior McCarthy, Amaury Nolasco as Frankie Sr., and James Badge Dale as Ray Abruzzo among the principal players. The engine of the show is Jackie's stubborn pursuit of the truth through a local drug economy where loyalties shift and everyone has something to hide. Each season builds a continuing investigation across a run of hour-long episodes, with the case pulling characters deeper into the trade. The series spans three seasons and twenty-five episodes, set in the present-day coastal community of Cape Cod. Its tone is gritty and tense, with flashes of dark humor and a wary, weathered atmosphere. Fans of Ozark, Justified and Bosch will find resonance in its blend of outsider investigation, regional crime and morally compromised law enforcement.
