## Synopsis

Corleone (2007) is an Italian national-television crime biography miniseries created by Stefano Bissi, Domenico Starnone and Claudio Fava and broadcast on Canale 5. The six-episode limited series follows Totò Riina (Claudio Gioè), the ambitious mafioso from Corleone, Sicily, as he pushes his way up the ranks of cosa nostra. Around him move Biagio Schirò (Daniele Liotti), Bernardo Provenzano (Salvatore Lazzaro) and Luciano Liggio (Claudio Castrogiovanni), rivals, allies and old-guard bosses whose loyalties shift with every power grab. Each hour is built from negotiations, betrayals and bloody reprisals, so the drama feels like a long institutional climb rather than a string of isolated crimes. Its tone is sober and heavy, with a sense of dread that grows as ambition hardens into cruelty. Set against the decades-long power struggles of Sicily, the story brings out the clan politics and family loyalties that define the mafia world. Fans of The Godfather, Gomorrah and Narcos will find resonance in its portrait of ruthless ambition and criminal empire-building.
