## Synopsis

Designated Survivor: 60 Days (2019) is a South Korean political thriller series created by Tae-heui Kim for tvN, a Korean remake of the American series Designated Survivor. An explosion at the National Assembly kills the entire cabinet, and Environment Minister Park Mu-jin (Ji Jin-hee), a scientist with no political ambitions, becomes acting president. Over sixty days he must navigate hostile advisers and rival factions while pursuing the truth behind the attack. Supporting principals include Han Joo-seung (Huh Joon-ho), Oh Young-seok (Lee Jun-hyuk) and Han Na-kyung (Kang Han-na), whose loyalties shift as the investigation tightens. The engine of the show is simple and urgent: a reluctant leader against a clock, a government that cannot be trusted, and a conspiracy reaching into the highest offices. Each episode pushes the investigation further, forming one continuing story across a single season of sixteen episodes. Set in contemporary Seoul, its atmosphere is tense and paranoid, with a serious, procedural tone. Fans of Designated Survivor, House of Cards and Signal will find resonance in its political intrigue and moral pressure.
