## Synopsis

Undercover (2019-2022) is a Flemish crime drama series created by Piet Matthys, Bart Uytdenhouwen and Nico Moolenaar for VRT 1 in Belgium. Undercover agents Bob Lemmens (Tom Waes) and Ferry Bouman (Frank Lammers) pose as a couple at the campground where a drug kingpin spends his weekends, and the operation hinges on convincing a suspicious criminal network that their cover is real. Elise Schaap plays Danielle Bouman, and Anna Drijver, Kevin Janssens and Raymond Thiry round out the principal players on both sides of the investigation. Each season is built from a sustained infiltration: patient surveillance, tense meetings with dealers and weapons traffickers, and the constant risk that a single slip exposes everyone. The series runs three seasons across 28 episodes, following one continuing operation rather than standalone cases. Inspired by real events, it carries a grounded, procedural realism with a claustrophobic, morally weary tone and a steady undercurrent of dread. Its emotional pull comes from the strain on personal lives as the cover identity bleeds into reality. Fans of Narcos, The Wire and Gomorra will find resonance in its gritty, serialized treatment of the drug trade and the cost of deception.
