## Synopsis

P-Valley (2020-2022) is a US Starz drama series created by Katori Hall for STARZ, adapted from her stage play. Set in the Mississippi Delta, it follows the Pynk, a struggling strip club, and the people who pass through its doors. Brandee Evans plays Mercedes, a dancer who carries the club's ambitions on her back, while Nicco Annan plays Uncle Clifford, the club's owner whose fortunes are tangled with the town's. Elarica Johnson plays Autumn Night, a newcomer chasing a dream, and Parker Sawyers plays Andre Watkins, a figure whose choices ripple through the community. Each episode is built from the club's nightly rhythms, performances, debts, and family pressures, with the characters pushing against a town that wants them invisible. The show runs on a blend of trap music and film noir, producing a heated, kaleidoscopic atmosphere of shadows, neon, and bass. Its tone shifts between sensual, bruised, and darkly funny, carrying themes of faith, survival, and self-determination. Viewers who enjoy Atlanta and Empire will find resonance in its music-driven ensemble world, and fans of True Detective will appreciate its noir-laced southern mood. The series is an ongoing, two-season show with an alternately serious and lively register.
