## Synopsis

Northern Rescue (2019) is a Canadian family drama series created by Dwayne Hill, Mark Bacci and David Cormican, produced for Netflix and CBC Gem. Across a single ten-episode season, William Baldwin plays John West, a widowed father who packs up his three children and returns from hectic city life to the small northern town where he grew up, taking command of the local search-and-rescue service. Kathleen Robertson co-stars as Charlie Anders, and Amalia Williamson, Spencer MacPherson and Taylor Thorne play his children, Maddie, Scout and Taylor, whose struggles to adjust to new friends, new surroundings and the absence of their mother Sarah (Michelle Nolden) drive the emotional core of the show. Each episode blends rescue missions in harsh wilderness with domestic scenes of a family learning to accept loss and rebuild together. The engine is simple: a father trying to keep his household steady while answering emergency calls that leave him little time to grieve. The tone is earnest and warm, with a quiet, wholesome atmosphere. Fans of Heartland, Everwood and Rescue Me will find resonance in its blend of small town community life, single parenthood and grief handled with a gentle touch.
