## Synopsis

Glow Up: Britain's Next Make-Up Star (2019-present) is a British reality competition series created by Michael Fraser for BBC Three. Aspiring makeup artists live and work together in a shared house, pitted against one another in weekly creative challenges where they must prove their potential to industry professionals drawn from fashion and film. Judges Val Garland and Dominic Skinner oversee the contestants, while hosts Stacey Dooley, Maya Jama and Leomie Anderson guide the proceedings and guest judges bring fresh industry perspectives to individual episodes. The engine of each episode is simple and pressured: a brief arrives, the contestants have limited time and scarce materials, and the strongest looks survive while the rest are sent home. Across seven seasons and fifty-four episodes, the format has remained a steady, accessible run of eliminations built around transformation and craft. The tone is buoyant and encouraging, with moments of nerves and rivalry giving way to genuine admiration for artistry. Fans of Great British Bake Off, Project Runway and Queer Eye will find a similar blend of creative pressure, warm mentorship and visual spectacle.
