## Synopsis

Toy Boy (2019-2021) is a Spanish crime thriller series created by César Benítez, Juan Carlos Cueto and Rocío Martínez for Atresplayer. After seven years in a Málaga prison, a male stripper named Hugo Beltrán González (Jesús Mosquera) is released pending retrial and sets out to prove that his lover, Macarena Medina (Cristina Castaño), framed him for her husband's murder. Along the way he crosses paths with Triana Marín (María Pedraza), a fellow figure in the city's nightlife, and Inspector Zapata (Pedro Casablanc), who keeps a wary eye on him. The engine of the series is a tangle of secrets, betrayals and hidden affairs, with each episode peeling back another layer of the wealthy Medina family's dealings and the seedy clubs where Hugo once worked. The two seasons, thirteen and eight episodes long, tell one continuing story across a sultry coastal Andalusian backdrop. Its tone is steamy and noir-tinged, mixing erotic glamour with melodramatic family rivalry and the grit of a criminal investigation. Fans of Money Heist, Velvet and Hache will find resonance in its glossy Spanish-language intrigue and its appetite for scandal. The show ends without resolving its central question, and this is a Spanish television thriller that leaves viewers wanting more.
