## Synopsis

Huge in France (2019) is a French scripted comedy series created for Netflix, with its original title Huge en France. Famous comedian Gad Elmaleh (played by himself as Gal Elmaleh) moves to Los Angeles to reconnect with his son, and the engine of each half-hour episode is his struggle to function without the celebrity perks he has always taken for granted in France. Supporting principal characters include his son Luke (Jordan Ver Hoeve), the American friend Jason Alan Ross (Matthew Del Negro), and Vivian (Erinn Hayes), who help drive the awkward social situations and cultural mismatches. The show runs for a single season of eight episodes and unfolds in a contemporary Los Angeles setting, where a once-adored star must rebuild his standing among strangers. Its tone is light, self-deprecating and breezy, with comic embarrassment as the main register and warmth underneath as a father tries to bridge distance with his child. Fans of Extras, Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Ricky Gervais Show will find resonance in its blend of celebrity satire, awkward humor and sincere family stakes.
