## Synopsis

Persona (2019) is a South Korean anthology series created by Yoon Jong-shin for Netflix. Across four standalone episodes, IU carries every story while playing a different figure in each one, with Bae Doona, Park Hae-soo and Kim Tae-hun appearing in supporting roles. The opening episode, Love Set, follows a tennis player whose relationships unravel, while later episodes shift into fragmented psychological territory involving a muse, a father and daughter, and hidden guilt. Rather than following one continuing plot, each chapter operates as its own self-contained piece, so the engine of every story is a character trying to reconcile desire, loss, and the masks they wear in front of others. The series moves at a deliberate pace, with symbol-rich imagery and poetic framing that foreground unease and introspection over conventional plotting. Its tone is haunting, intimate, and melancholic, closer to a Korean arthouse film than to network television. Fans of Black Mirror and Fargo, who enjoy anthology storytelling with a strong central performance, will find resonance here, as will viewers drawn to psychological character studies from Korean auteur cinema. It is a compact four-episode watch that rewards close attention and a second look.
