## Synopsis

Street Food: Asia (2019) is a American documentary miniseries created by David Gelb and Brian McGinn for Netflix. Across nine episodes of roughly thirty-one minutes each, the series travels through Asian cities to follow the street vendors, home cooks and food stall families who turn everyday ingredients into dishes that feed entire neighborhoods. Each episode settles into one locale, lingering on the rhythm of preparation, the sizzle of woks, the steam rising from night markets and the quiet pride of people who have cooked the same recipe for decades. Rather than a single narrator pushing a plot, the show lets each vendor's personal history carry the story, so a dish becomes a window into family, migration, economic struggle and tradition. Reenacted vignettes sit alongside interviews, giving the stories a gentle dramatic shape without tipping into spectacle. The tone is warm, curious and appetite-driven, with a comforting pace that rewards a slow evening watch. Fans of Parts Unknown, Chef's Table and Ugly Delicious will find the same blend of culinary craft, cultural portraiture and intimate travel. It is a tidy, self-contained season that suits food lovers and anyone drawn to the everyday lives behind a street corner meal.
