## Synopsis

Ringo, la pelea de su vida (2019-2020) is a Mexican telenovela-style drama created by Adrián Suar and Lucero Suárez for Las Estrellas. Its protagonist, Juan José Ramírez Rojas, known as Ringo, is played by José Ron, a boxer who loses his national title after learning of his brother's death and retires from the ring. His wife Gloria, played by Mariana Torres as Julia Garay in the wider cast, leaves him for El Turco, his main rival in the ring, and Ringo is left to raise his son Santi alone. When Gloria returns to claim custody, Ringo must find steady work and return to boxing with the goal of becoming champion again. The series runs as a single 82-episode season of hour-long episodes, following a serialized arc in which each stretch of the story turns on grief, jealousy, rivalry and fatherly duty. Supporting principals include Jorge Poza as Diego Jáuregui Torreslanda, César Évora Díaz as Óscar Oso Villar and Silvia Mariscal as Teresa. Set in contemporary Mexico, the drama plays its emotions large, with melodramatic reversals, romantic betrayal and sporting stakes woven together. Fans of Rocky Balboa, Creed and Yo soy Betty, la fea will find resonance in its blend of ring action and domestic heartbreak.
