## Synopsis

Bitter Daisies (2018-2020) is a Galician-language Spanish crime drama series created by Raquel Arias and Eligio R. Montero for Televisión de Galicia. Civil Guard officer Rosa Vargas (María Mera) leads the search for a missing teen girl in a tight-knit village, and her inquiry keeps brushing against secrets tied to a loss of her own. Alongside her, Raúl Salgado (Santi Prego), Laura Nogueiras (Noelia Castaño), Lidia Fernández (Rebeca Stones) and Amaro Mayo (César Cambeiro) fill out a close-knit community where everyone knows more than they admit. The engine of the series is the slow pull between a case that refuses to settle and the wounds it reopens, with each episode built from interviews, quiet confrontations and gradually surfacing histories. Across two seasons and twelve long episodes the story stays grounded and atmospheric, drawn out in rain-soaked streets and tense interiors. Its tone is somber and intimate, with dread and melancholy running beneath the procedural investigation. Fans of Broadchurch, Top of the Lake and The Killing will find resonance in its small-town mystery, its bleak emotional register and its focus on grief and buried truths.
