## Synopsis

Doña Flor y sus dos maridos (2019) is a Mexican telenovela created by Jorge Amado for Las Estrellas. Flor, played by Ana Serradilla, is a cheerful and beautiful woman who loved her difficult husband Valentín (Joaquín Ferreira) despite his many problems. After his death she grieves in loneliness, and her longtime friend Teodoro (Sergio Mur), who has always loved her, patiently courts her until they build a calm, pleasant, if somewhat predictable marriage. Then one night Flor makes a wish that her late husband return, and it comes true, leaving her caught between the ghost of her first husband and her living second one. The engine of the show is the domestic comedy of this impossible arrangement, with households, family rivalries and neighborhood gossip filling each episode. Across a single season of sixty-five episodes, the story stays light, warm and melodramatic, mixing romance with slapstick and affectionate teasing. Set in a contemporary Mexican setting, it has the lush, emotional register of the telenovela tradition. Fans of Bewitched, Yo soy Betty, la fea and Pasión de Gavilanes will find resonance in its supernatural romance and soap opera pacing.
