## Synopsis

Criminal Justice (2019) is an Indian Hindi-language crime series created by Tigmanshu Dhulia and Vishal Furia for Disney+ Hotstar. Vikrant Massey plays Aditya Sharma, an ordinary man whose edgy one night stand turns into a nightmare when he wakes with blood on his hands and no memory of a gruesome murder. Pankaj Tripathi stars as Madhav Mishra, a lawyer drawn into the case, alongside Jackie Shroff as Mustafa and Mita Vashisht as Mandira Mathur, with Pankaj Saraswat as ACP Raghu Salian leading the police side of the investigation. The engine of the series is a man trying to determine his own guilt while the evidence piles up against him, and each episode peels back another layer of the night's events, relationships and secrets. Shot in a single-season run of ten episodes of roughly fifty minutes, it is a grounded, serialized mystery set in contemporary Mumbai. The tone is tense, morally grey and gritty, with the claustrophobic dread of a man losing his grip on his own story. Fans of Broadchurch, Sacred Games and Mindhunter will find resonance in its crime-driven moral unease and its slow unpeeling of a murder case.
