## Synopsis

Abyss (2019) is a South Korean fantasy mystery romance series created by Yoo Je-won for Netflix and tvN. After two childhood friends die in separate incidents, they wake in new bodies they do not recognize: Go Se-yeon, played by Park Bo-young, and Cha Min, played by Ahn Hyo-seop. Their reincarnation sets up a race to understand who killed them and why, while their old feelings resurface. The series unfolds as a sixteen-episode serialized thriller, each episode peeling back another layer of a serial killer investigation that threads through both lives. Lee Sung-jae and Lee Si-eon appear among the principal cast, adding suspicion and shifting alliances to the chase. The tone blends wistful romance with a dread-filled murder mystery, with flashes of dark humor and moments of harrowing violence. Fans of Hotel Del Luna and Mr. Sunshine will find resonance in its blend of Korean drama emotion, supernatural premise and investigative tension. The result is a tense, emotionally charged puzzle about second chances and unfinished business.
