## Synopsis

Hawkeye (2021) is a Marvel Studios superhero miniseries created by Jonathan Igla for Disney+. Jeremy Renner plays former Avenger Clint Barton, who has a seemingly simple goal of getting back to his family in time for Christmas. Hailee Steinfeld plays Kate Bishop, a twenty-two-year-old archer eager to become a superhero, and the two are forced into an uneasy partnership when a figure from Clint's past threatens to derail the holiday plans. Vera Farmiga and Tony Dalton round out the principal cast. The engine of the show is a street level case that spills through snowy New York City streets, with rooftop chases, close quarters fights, and a mismatched pairing that keeps bickering through every episode. The six-episode run is a single continuing story rather than a standalone case of the week. Set in present day Manhattan during the holiday season, the tone is breezy and warm, with a witty, playful sensibility and an undercurrent of suspense. Fans of Jessica Jones, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Rush Hour will find a similar mix of action, banter, and holiday cheer.
