## Synopsis

Astrid & Raphaëlle (2020-present) is a French crime series created by Laurent Burtin and Alexandre de Seguin for France 2, a French national-television police procedural rooted in the tradition of European crime drama. Sara Mortensen plays Astrid Nielsen, a librarian in the judicial police archive who has Asperger's syndrome and an remarkable memory for case files, while Lola Dewaere plays Raphaëlle Coste, the investigator who works alongside her. Benoît Michel plays Nicolas Perran, and Husky Kihal plays Henry Fournier among the principal supporting cast. The engine of the show is simple and satisfying: the district commander entrusts Astrid with complex investigations that have gone unsolved for years, and she must dig through dense files, notice what others missed, and then persuade colleagues to act on her insights despite the friction her social directness creates. Each case unfolds across a self-contained storyline, giving the series a case-of-the-week shape carried by a recurring team across six seasons of eight episodes each. The mood is measured and humane, with the procedural tension softened by warmth, attention to dignity, and the quiet awkwardness of workplace relationships. Fans of Sherlock, Monk, Wallander and Engrenages will find resonance in its blend of brilliant deduction, French police texture and character-driven investigation.
