## Synopsis

Meteor Garden (2001-2002) is a Taiwanese romance drama series created by Angie Chai for CTS. Shan Cai, a girl from a modest family, enrolls at Ying De University, a private school built exclusively for the children of the rich, where she quickly angers Daoming Si (Jerry Yan), leader of the wealthy clique known as F4. Barbie Hsu plays Shan Cai, and the story follows her stubborn refusal to be intimidated as Daoming Si's hostility slowly shifts into something more complicated. Around them, Vic Chou as Huaze Lei, Ken Chu as Xi-men, and Vanness Wu as Mei-zuo fill out the privileged circle, while Rainie Yang's Xiao You adds a rival romantic thread. Each episode is built from campus humiliations, rivalries, misunderstandings and sudden emotional reversals, carried across two seasons and sixty episodes. The show is a classic East Asian idol drama, a glossy teen melodrama with a love triangle at its core, and its tone swings between giddy, sweet and bruising. Fans of Hana Yori Dango, Gossip Girl and Boys Over Flowers will find the same mix of class tension and youthful romance here.
