## Synopsis

68 Whiskey (2020) is a American dark comedy drama series created by Roberto Benabib for Paramount Network. Following a multicultural group of Army medics deployed to a forward operating base in Afghanistan nicknamed The Orphanage, the show centers on medic Cooper Roback (Sam Keeley) and fellow medic Grace Durkin (Gage Golightly) as they navigate a dangerous, Kafkaesque world where routine is punctuated by sudden trauma. Sergeant Rosa Alvarez (Cristina Rodlo) and Staff Sergeant Mekhi Davis (Jeremy Tardy) add weight to the unit's daily struggle, while Major Sonia Holloway (Beth Riesgraf) embodies the institutional absurdity pressing down on everyone. Each episode of this single ten-episode season balances grim battlefield medicine against self-destructive appetites, outrageous behavior, and bawdy off-duty mischief. The tone is irreverent and gallows-funny, yet it keeps returning to the intense bonds that form among people who have no other refuge. Fans of M*A*S*H and Scrubs will recognize its blend of hospital-tent camaraderie and sardonic humor, and viewers drawn to war satire will find its bleak, unvarnished look at deployment resonant.
