## Synopsis

Helstrom (2020) is an American supernatural horror drama created by Paul Zbyszewski for Hulu, produced under Marvel Television. Daimon Helstrom (Tom Austen) and his sister Ana Helstrom (Sydney Lemmon) are the son and daughter of a mysterious, powerful serial killer, and their uneasy bond drives the story. Each sibling brings a different attitude and set of skills to the hunt, tracking down the most terrifying figures of humanity while wrestling with the demonic inheritance that runs through their family. Elizabeth Marvel plays Victoria Helstrom, with Robert Wisdom as Henry, the Caretaker, adding an uneasy presence to the family's dark history. Each episode pairs a grisly case with the siblings' personal reckonings, building an atmosphere of dread, brooding guilt, and grim violence. The show runs ten episodes of roughly fifty minutes, a single season that ended on a note of unfinished business after its cancellation. Its gritty, moody register will appeal to viewers who enjoy Supernatural and Constantine, with the occult mood and damaged heroes of those shows resonating here. Set in present-day United States, it blends Marvel's comic-book roots with the bleak weight of a family drama, making for a tense, disquieting watch.
