## Synopsis

Drug Squad: Costa del Sol (2019) is a Spanish crime drama series created by Pablo Barrera and Fernando Bassi for Telecinco and Cuatro. Yolanda 'La Buhíta' (Sara Sálamo), Bruno López (Hugo Silva), Leo Villa (Álvaro Cervantes) and Martín Pulido (Miki Esparbé) are four impulsive police officers who form a special narcotics unit. Their engine is simple and urgent: they want to stop the first wave of drug trafficking spreading along the coast, while their own recklessness, rivalries and personal entanglements get in the way. Across thirteen long episodes, each about seventy minutes, the series builds a single continuing investigation from street-level busts to the dealers and money behind them. The setting is 1970s Spain, where a resort coast is becoming a smuggling frontier and the old order is struggling to keep up. The tone is gritty, propulsive and morally scruffy, with violence, strong language and a raw sense of danger. Fans of Narcos, Money Heist and The Wire will find resonance in its blend of police bravado, criminal networks and atmospheric period grit.
