## Synopsis

Instinto (2019) is a Spanish psychological mystery drama miniseries created by Teresa Fernández-Valdés, Gema R. Neira and Ramón Campos for Movistar Plus. Mario Casas plays Marco Mur, an attractive, successful businessman who cannot let himself get emotionally involved with women and instead seeks anonymous encounters at a club where nobody knows anybody else. Lola Dueñas plays Laura, and Ingrid García Jonsson plays Carol, while Silvia Alonso, Jon Arias and Juan Diego Botto fill out the principal cast. The engine of the story is a past trauma that refuses to stay buried: when it returns, Marco must confront it while juggling the other conflicts of his life, including the tangled relationships that pull at his polished existence. Told across a single eight-episode run of roughly forty-five minutes each, it is a self-contained limited series rather than a case-of-the-week format. The contemporary Spanish setting gives it a sleek, urban texture, and its mood is brooding, sensual and tense, with a slow-burn unease that builds toward emotional reckoning. Fans of Hache and Money Heist will find resonance in its prestige Spanish drama style and its focus on secrets reshaping a respectable life, while viewers drawn to intimate, morally complicated adult dramas will find much to unpack.
