## Synopsis

Trinkets (2019-2020) is an American teen drama created by Amy Andelson, Kirsten Smith and Emily Meyer for Netflix. Across a two-season run of twenty episodes, the story follows Elodie Davis (Brianna Hildebrand), a grieving teenager who starts over at a new high school. Her attempt to keep her head down collapses when she lands in the same Shoplifters Anonymous group as Moe Truax (Kiana Madeira) and Tabitha Foster (Quintessa Swindell). Each of the three is hiding a compulsion and a wound, and the engine of the show is their slow, uneasy attempt to trust one another while the pull of their old habits keeps tugging. Episodes center on school pressures, family fractures and the small cons and temptations that threaten each girl's progress. Set in a contemporary American high school town, the show carries a melancholic, emotionally raw register softened by humor and tenderness. Its atmosphere is intimate and character driven, with the group sessions serving as a recurring anchor. Fans of 13 Reasons Why, Euphoria and Degrassi: The Next Generation will find a similar mix of teen angst, friendship and hard-earned hope.
