## Synopsis

Jezabel (2019) is a Brazilian biblical telenovela created by Cristianne Fridman for Record. Lidi Lisboa plays the title character, a Phoenician princess who marries King Ahab (André Bankoff) and wields her beauty and cunning to force the worship of her pagan gods on the Israelite people. Her ambitions collide with the prophet Elias (Iano Salomão), whose faith makes him her most dangerous opponent, while rival court women, including Aisha (Adriana Birolli) and Queila (Juliana Knust), tangle her in alliances and betrayals. The engine of the series is a royal woman's relentless drive for dominance, pitted against a people and a prophet determined to hold their ground. Told across a single run of eighty-four episodes of about fifty minutes each, it moves through court intrigue, public confrontations and escalating schemes rather than a case-of-the-week structure. Set in ancient Israel and Phoenicia, it is staged with the lavish costume, heightened emotion and melodramatic reversals of the telenovela tradition. The tone is sweeping and fervent, rich with seduction, rivalry and religious zeal. Fans of The Bible, Kingdom of Heaven and Escrava Isaura will find resonance in its blend of spectacle, faith and romantic melodrama.
