## Synopsis

Dune: Prophecy (2024-present) is an American prestige science fiction drama created by Diane Ademu-John and Alison Schapker for HBO, a prequel to the Dune saga. Sisters Valya and Tula Harkonnen (Emily Watson and Olivia Williams) work to establish the fabled sect and female order that would become the Bene Gesserit, ten thousand years before the ascension of Paul Atreides. Their engine is a patient, dangerous campaign to shape the future of humankind through hidden breeding and prophecy, while rival houses and the Corrino imperial court push back. Travis Fimmel as Desmond Hart and Mark Strong as Emperor Javicco Corrino anchor the political and personal stakes. The series unfolds as a serialized, two-season saga across a vast far-future empire, with intrigue unfolding through court politics, secret schemes and uneasy alliances. Its tone is austere, brooding and contemplative, with a sense of grand destiny and ancient cosmic weight. Viewers who love the sweeping political epics of Game of Thrones and Battlestar Galactica, or the hidden-power mythology of Foundation, will find a similar resonance in its scale and moral ambiguity.
