## Synopsis

Limetown (2019) is a canceled American scripted mystery drama series created by Zack Akers for Facebook Watch. Jessica Biel plays Lia Haddock, a journalist for American Public Radio who follows the vanishing of more than 300 people from a research community in Tennessee. Stanley Tucci plays Emile Haddock, a figure tied to the mystery, while Sherri Saum, Omar Elba and Alessandro Juliani fill out the principal cast. The engine of the show is Lia's audio reporting: she interviews witnesses, chases leads and pieces together recordings and records as the community's secrets resist easy answers. Each of its ten half-hour episodes builds a single continuing investigation, so the story rewards close attention and watching in order. The show is a serialized, one-season mystery with a tense, paranoid and melancholic register, its unease rising from the gap between what people say and what the town will not reveal. Its look and sound draw on the intimacy of radio documentary and conspiracy podcasts. Fans of Serial, The Leftovers and Twin Peaks will find resonance in its mood of unexplained absence and institutional secrecy, though the series ends with its central question still open.
