## Synopsis

Lo que la verdad esconde: Caso Asunta (2017) is a Spanish true crime miniseries broadcast on Antena 3, running three episodes of about seventy minutes each. Rather than following a single fictional hero, the series revisits the famous criminal case of Asunta Basterra Porto, the girl whose death shocked the nation, and sifts through newfound evidence and questions that were never fully answered. Each episode works like a careful case file, moving between the established facts, the competing theories that dominated headlines, and the gaps that still trouble observers. The engine is the pull of doubt: every new document, testimony, or detail reopens the question of who was responsible and what really happened inside that household. Its tone is sober, investigative, and unsettling, with a steady documentary seriousness that avoids sensational pacing while never letting the emotional weight of a murdered child fade. Viewers drawn to the investigative rigor of Netflix's The Staircase and the reopened-case intensity of The Jinx will find a similar appetite for real-world ambiguity. Because it is a single closed run, the miniseries offers a complete arc with no further seasons to follow, making it a focused, self-contained watch for anyone who wants to revisit one of Spain's most talked-about criminal cases.
