## Synopsis

James Gunn's PG Porn (2008-2009) is an American web comedy series created by Brian Gunn, James Gunn, and Sean Gunn for Spike. It works as a spoof of adult films, with each short episode, about three minutes long, pairing a mainstream actor with a pornographic actress or model. Nathan Fillion and Michael Rosenbaum appear alongside performers such as Tiffany Shepis, Aria Giovanni, and Sasha Grey, while the episode's engine is a set-up that builds toward a sexual scene and then gets derailed by a humorous event just before anything explicit happens. The result is a single season of eight episodes that plays as a deadpan, irreverent sketch series with a cheeky, self-aware tone. Its mockery of pornographic conventions is affectionate rather than cruel, and the gags depend on expectation and interruption. Fans of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and Upright Citizens Brigade will find a similar appetite for escalating awkwardness and genre subversion. The show is brief and slight, a quick web-era experiment in parody that asks viewers to laugh at what they expect to see.
