## Synopsis

Expeditie Robinson (2000-present) is a Dutch-Flemish reality survival competition created by Charlie Parsons and broadcast across several networks including Net5, RTL 4 and VTM. Hosted by a rotating roster of presenters including Ernst-Paul Hasselbach, Nicolette Kluijver and Dennis Weening, the format drops a group of BN'ers onto a remote island where they must build shelter, hunt for food and win group challenges while the elements wear them down. The engine is simple and gripping: contestants want to stay in the game, and each round an alliance or a rival is voted out as the group is split and merged, a process the series calls samensmelting. Episodes are built from camp-life tensions, weather and resource struggles, and tribal-council style confrontations. Across twenty-five seasons the show has grown from a sixty-six minute experiment into a durable staple of Dutch and Flemish television, and its run is still going. The tone is competitive and gritty, with moments of humour and camaraderie, and the appeal lies in watching strategy, endurance and human nature collide. Fans of Survivor, Alone and other castaway competitions will find the same appeal of social strategy under primal conditions.
