## Synopsis

Ling Cage (2019-2025) is a Chinese animated post-apocalyptic science fiction series produced by YHKT Entertainment and Bilibili, presented as a donghua in the tradition of Chinese animated fantasy. Set in a near future after overpopulation and violent geological upheaval have nearly erased humanity, the story follows survivors who climb out of ruins and abysses to step again onto an unfamiliar earth. Principal voice cast includes Li Yuantao as Marc, Tao Dian as Ran Bing, and Gu Jiangshan as Mo Cheng, with Huang Ying voicing Jing Nan and 4277. The engine of the series is the tension between the survivors' inherited drive to dominate and the hostile, transformed landscape they now inhabit, with each episode weaving together enclave politics, genetic mysteries, cult pressure, and military conflict. Across two seasons of twelve episodes each, the series builds a continuing mythology rather than standalone cases. Its tone is sombre and tense, with moments of awe at the scale of a lost civilization and flashes of brutality. Its season ratings climbed from strong to stronger, and the series rewards attentive viewing. Fans of Attack on Titan and Code Geass will find resonance in its blend of mythic world-building, moral unease, and survival under an uncertain order.
