## Synopsis

No Guns Life (2019-2020) is a Japanese seinen cyberpunk anime series created for TBS and produced by Madhouse. It follows Juuzou Inui, voiced by Junichi Suwabe, an agent who investigates the Extended, humans physically altered into dangerous weapons, even though he is one of them and has awakened with amnesia. His work becomes complicated when Mary Steinberg, voiced by Manami Numakura, a mysterious child with Extended ties, appears at his office. Inui must keep her away from street gangs and the megacorporation Berühren, and the engine of each episode is a tense cycle of pursuit, hiding and violent confrontation in a neon-tinged future city. The single season of twenty-four episodes is one continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format, so its mystery of Inui's past and the child's origins builds steadily. Its tone is gritty, melancholic and action-driven, with a grounded sense of dread about bodies treated as products and a corporation that operates above the law. Fans of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Psycho-Pass and Blame! will find resonance in its blend of cyborg identity, corporate conspiracy and bleak urban action.
