## Synopsis

Khichdi (2002-2018) is an Indian Hindi-language family sitcom created by Aatish Kapadia for StarPlus, a long-running domestic comedy that spans three seasons and 155 twenty-minute episodes. Its center is an irascible elderly patriarch, Tulsidas Parekh (Anang Desai), whose temper and grumbling pull a crowded joint household into daily skirmishes. His good-for-nothing son Praful (Rajeev Mehta) and daughter-in-law Hansa (Supriya Pathak) bicker and scheme their way through money troubles and small domestic crises, while widowed daughter-in-law Jayshree (Vandana Pathak) provides steadier counterweight. The grandchildren Jackie (Yash Mittal) and Chakki (Richa Bhadra) are the household's sharpest minds, quietly outwitting their elders in each episode. Built from short self-contained stories of everyday family friction, the show runs on warm, breezy banter, running gags and mild farce rather than plot-driven suspense. The result is a cozy, nostalgic watch with a gentle, affectionate tone. Viewers who enjoy Sanford and Son, Everybody Loves Raymond and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai will find similar resonance in its comic family rhythms.
