## Synopsis

Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?! (2019) is a Japanese animated isekai comedy series created for AT-X, adapted from a light novel and produced by project No.9 and DAX Production. Kurihara Misato, a high school girl who was always set apart by being a little too capable, is reincarnated into a magic-filled world after a tragic accident. Her single request to God was for average abilities, but the powers she receives are anything but average, and she spends each episode trying to make normal friends and build an ordinary life while her gifts keep pulling her into attention. The engine of the series is the gap between that modest wish and her overpowered reality, played out through everyday school life, friendships with a circle of classmates including Mile (voiced by Azumi Waki) and Reina (voiced by Sora Tokui), and small social mishaps. Its twelve-episode run is a single continuing story with light episodic beats rather than a case-of-the-week format. The tone stays breezy, warm and comforting, with gentle humor and a sincere focus on friendship. Fans of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Konosuba will find familiar isekai pleasures here, delivered in a lighter, more intimate register centered on a girl who simply wants to belong.
