## Synopsis

Green Frontier (2019) is a Colombian crime mystery miniseries created by Diego Ramírez Schrempp, Mauricio Leiva-Cock and Jenny Ceballos, released on Netflix as a single eight-episode season of roughly forty minutes each. Bogotá detective Helena Poveda, played by Juana del Río, is drawn into the jungle to investigate a run of femicides, and her inquiry pulls her toward indigenous communities, missionary history and a figure played by Miguel Dionisio Ramos, whose ties to the case deepen as the search goes on. Each episode follows a new strand of evidence through river villages and mission settlements, with the investigation feeding a larger hidden plot. The engine is the detective's push against institutions and local silence that keep the killings buried, layered with a supernatural undercurrent that unsettles the procedural frame. Set in the present-day Colombian Amazon region near the Bogotá capital, the story carries a brooding, eerie and paranoid register, with a dense atmosphere of rain, forest and colonial memory. Viewers who enjoy the atmospheric dread of Twin Peaks, the folkloric layering of Dark and the grim investigative pull of True Detective will find resonance here.
