## Synopsis

Truth Seekers (2020) is a British-American comedy series created by Nick Frost, Simon Pegg, Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz for Prime Video. Simon Pegg plays Dave and Nick Frost plays Gus Roberts, two amateur ghost hunters who team up to track down and film paranormal sightings across the U.K. and post their adventures on an online channel. Their quest for viewers and proof grows increasingly frightening as the supernatural encounters become more frequent and more dangerous. Samson Kayo, Susan Wokoma, Emma D'Arcy and Malcolm McDowell round out the principal cast, with Julian Barratt appearing in several episodes. The engine of the show is a sequence of wobbly camera investigations, staged confrontations with ghosts and oddballs, and a slowly widening conspiracy that threatens everyone. The series is a single eight-episode season of thirty-minute episodes, with a brisk, jokey rhythm that never fully shakes its unease. Its tone blends British wit with a genuinely eerie edge, somewhat in the vein of Shaun of the Dead and The X-Files. Set in contemporary Britain, it balances sharp banter with real atmospheric dread, and fans of paranormal investigation comedy will find plenty to enjoy.
