## Synopsis

Lady, la vendedora de rosas (2015) is a Colombian national-television drama series produced by Teleset and aired on RCN. Loosely inspired by the life story of film star Lady Tabares (Natalia Reyes), the series follows a young flower seller plucked off the rough streets of Colombia and thrust into the glamorous world of cinema. Her mother Fátima Tabares (Majida Issa) and Marco García (Ernesto Benjumea) shape her early path, while the childhood versions of Lady, played by Michell Orozco, anchor the story's flashbacks to the hardship that made her. The engine of the series is Lady's drive to escape poverty and earn respect in an industry that still sees her as an outsider, with each episode weaving a new obstacle, romance or professional setback into the rise. Stretched across a single season of seventy-eight episodes, it moves through a bright, heightened melodrama of ambition, loyalty and sacrifice. Set in contemporary Colombia, it carries the emotional sweep of a Latin American telenovela and will appeal to fans of Betty la fea and Ugly Betty, who enjoy humble beginnings turned into dazzling success.
