## Synopsis

La Familia del Barrio (2013-2018) is a Mexican comedy series created by Arturo Navarro and Teco Lebrija for MTV Latin America and Comedy Central Latinoamérica. Star Sergio Lebrija carries the show by playing a rotating roster of eccentric neighborhood figures, including Gaspar, Johnny, Peluzín, El Noruego and an elderly Abuelo voiced by him. Each short episode of roughly half an hour is built from small comic situations that repeatedly bring the characters into contact with one another, letting the humor grow from quick exchanges, mistaken identities and escalating neighborhood mishaps. The series runs six seasons and 95 episodes, a continuing comedy rather than a single story arc, and its emotional register stays light and broad, with an easygoing, slapstick energy aimed at family audiences. Its tradition sits within Latin American sketch and sitcom comedy, and fans of El Chavo del Ocho and Mexicanísimos will recognize the same affectionate, character-driven silliness. The show is an easy, undemanding watch built around the pleasure of seeing one performer inhabit many memorable personalities.
